Hadjer Beyaz came from Algeria to study MSc Applied Psychology at London Met. She is a recipient of the prestigious Chevening scholarship and holds a degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Algiers.
What does Hadjer hope to do in the future?
Hadjer’s dream is to become a future leader in the field of psychology. Her MSc Applied Psychology programme offers modules which are both theoretical and practical, which contribute to developing her knowledge and career aspirations in the field of psychology.
She says “Social Psychology is my favourite module. It helps me understand different social aspects of human behaviour in different life situations”.
What does Hadjer particularly enjoy about London Met?
Hadjer really enjoys the multicultural study environment at London Met. She says that exploring different cultures is an amazing experience which allows her to have friends from all around the world. She now has friends from Algeria, Spain, Pakistan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Nigeria and Trinidad, as well as from different parts of the UK. With them, she has spent time together doing coursework, travelling, going to the gym, and sharing the experience of being a newcomer to university life and to London in general. She says “My experience at London Met is priceless and the best is yet to come through the current academic year.”
Hadjer is confident that being a student at London Met will open a horizon for positive change in her home country. Her goal is to start a family therapy centre in Algeria which will give training to people on topics such as relationships, communication, counselling skills, motivation, leadership and career planning and will hopefully impact positively on those who need it.
