Shaun Turner's background is in carpentry, joinery, cabinet-making and the conservation and restoration of furniture and decorative arts, having trained for six years, five of which were at The London College of Furniture.

Shaun Turner

Shaun's background is in cabinet making, carpentry and joinery, and the conservation and restoration of furniture and works of art. Shaun trained for six years full-time, five of those at The London College of Furniture (now the School of Art, Architecture and Design).
 
Shaun has been working as Senior Furniture Conservator for 'The Royal Collection Trust' for over 27 years. His role covers all aspects of decorative furniture and wooden artefacts for The Royal Residences including Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Balmoral, Sandringham, Kensington Palace and Osborne House.
 
Recently, he has been involved in the conservation and restoration of numerous important pieces for an elaborate exhibition at the Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace and for displays at the Buckingham Palace Summer Openings each year.
 
Whilst thoroughly enjoying his full time job, Shaun also gets immense fulfilment in teaching the craftsmanship side of adult education and making learning an enjoyable experience for all. He has been teaching since 2001.
