Dr Myasar Tabany

Dr Myasar Tabany has extensive experience and expertise in conducting in-depth state-of-the-art research and development for information technology and computing in general, and telecommunication networks and mobile core networks in particular. 

Dr Myasar Tabany

Dr Myasar Tabany is a senior lecturer in the School of Computing and Digital Media. He graduated with BSc Honours and High Graduate Diploma (DipHE) in Computer Science and Data Security, and holds a master's and PhD in wireless and mobile communications engineering from the University of Reading, School of Systems Engineering. Prior to his current position at London Met, Dr Tabany worked as post-doctoral researcher and postdoctoral research associate in engineering at several higher education institutes in the UK.

Dr Tabany has an extensive experience and expertise in conducting in-depth state-of-the-art research and development for information technology and computing in general and telecommunication networks and mobile core networks (eg GPRDS, EDGE, 3G UMTS, 4G LTE/LTE-A and 5G) in particular. His current research focuses on using radio resources management (RRM) techniques for different real time (RT) and non-real time application services over 4G and 5G technologies, cyber security, internet of things and cloud computing/networking. 

Dr Tabany is the course leader and academic tutor for Computer Networking and Cyber Security BSc (Hons) and is also the module leader for Cloud Competing and Internet of Things (IoT). 

Dr Tabany specifically teaches:

  • Cloud Computing and Internet of Things, MSc level 7
  • Network and Cloud Security (level 6), Cyber Security Fundamentals (level 3), Ethical Hacking (level 6) and Security in Computing (level 5)/ BSc workshops

Research interests 
Dr Tabany's current research with potential PhD students focuses on using radio resources management (RRM) techniques for different real time (RT) and non-real time application services over 4G and 5G technologies, cyber security, internet of things and cloud computing/networking.
