Why study this course?

Our Business in London course takes four weeks to complete and is part of our International Summer School programme. This course is ideal for students currently studying business management and related subject areas at undergraduate degree level.

This course will help you to develop your general business skills and will provide you with a solid base for your future managerial activities at work. Throughout the course you will learn how to write in an academic style, interpret numerical data and how to present findings of your research.

All of our summer school courses are worth 15 UK credit points / 3 US credit points, and upon successful completion of this course we will provide you with a transcript of records.

The main themes covered in this course include:

  • Professional presentation skills

Having professional presentation skills are essential for success, not only at university but also in the workplace. In addition to being a key skill at university, the ability to communicate effectively is one of the key requirements from employers when considering business management graduates.

  • Self-management 

This includes managing your personal finances, your timekeeping and your planning. It also involves developing your soft skills including listening, empathy, the ability to think clearly and the ability to think critically.

  • Academic literacy 

Academic literacy will enable you to underpin all of the above. It will facilitate accessibility and develop your critical thinking, as well as improve your academic reading, writing and referencing.

Teaching and assessment

During this course you will participate in campus-based lectures and seminars, with additional external trips and visits around London to support your learning. 

Diagnostic and formative assessment will take place on a weekly basis to develop your theoretical, analytical, oral and written communication skills. In the final week of the course you will be required to undertake a summative assessment which comprises of a group presentation and accompanying report.

Course fees

The cost of this course is £1,400.

If you would like to take two summer school courses, the total cost of your tuition fees would be £2,650. 

If you want to take this course alongside our Internship course, the total cost of your tuition fees would be £3,500.
