Why study this course?

This two-day intensive course is designed to give individuals with some previous experience in silversmithing an opportunity to focus and develop a personal project or to continue a project from our term-time course From Metal Sheet to Hollow Form.

More about this course

The course will focus on key silversmithing techniques as well as providing creative tools for developing and realising your ideas into a three-dimensional metal piece. You'll be encouraged to explore your own creative and experimental approach to making.

We will cover silversmithing techniques including sinking, hand raising, planishing and large-scale soldering. These will be followed by discussions and demonstrations of finishing techniques.

Classes will be kept small with a maximum of six students.
