The Certificate in Professional Marketing is ideal for aspiring junior marketers currently working in marketing support roles, or those with roles that encompass elements of marketing. This qualification builds knowledge and understanding of marketing, practical skills, plus know-how to devise and execute tactical marketing activities.
This is a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) professional marketing qualification. CIM are key influencers when it comes to industry training, accreditation and marketing standards.
This Certificate in Professional Marketing teaches a series of core marketing modules that are relevant to marketers looking to build on their marketing competency. People that would benefit from this course include: marketing officers, marketing assistants, junior marketers, marketing communications assistants and junior communications professionals.

Delivered by experienced marketing professionals, you’ll gain academic understanding and practical advice from experts working in the field.
Each module is taught over a period of 10 weeks on one evening per week between 6pm and 9pm, which also includes a series of webinars. Please be aware that we will be delivering a revised CIM syllabus from September 2020.
The CIM assesses each Level 4 module either by examination or assignment at an organisation of your choice. There are three assessment periods each year in December, April and June/July.
Assessments are only available in English.
In order to gain the Certificate in Professional Marketing, you must achieve passes at the appropriate level for all modules.
There are some exemptions, which are available for individuals who have passed a relevant subject in an equivalent qualification. Please note, this must be at the same or a higher level and evidence of sufficient content match will be required.
Applications for exemptions are made on an individual basis, with further guidance available on the CIM website. The CIM will automatically arrange exemptions from previous CIM awards, where relevant, for individuals who are part way through the Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing. Please contact CIM directly to investigate this option.

You'll be supplied with fully narrated PowerPoint slides. Before each workshop, you'll need to listen to the narrated slides.

As part of your Affiliate membership, you'll receive a free eBook from CIM when you register, plus our fully narrated slides.
Tutorial workshops
Eight virtual interactive tutorials to solve and answer questions arising from the slides and CIM eBook, as well as a revision workshop to ensure that you are fully prepared for the online examination.
Timing of each tutorial:
Workshop one: 6pm - 7pm
Workshops two to eight: 6pm - 7.30pm
Webinar tutorials
Four 1hr30mins online webinars to support you throughout the module. These tutorial include revision sessions and one-to-one support. Dates to be agreed with your tutor at the beginning of your module.
Additional support
Ongoing support via emails with your specialist tutor.
Examination
This module is assessed anytime during July, via a proctored online examination. The two-hour assessment is made up of multiple choice questions. It can be completed remotely, either from home or at work using either a Windows or Apple laptop.
Please note, you will not be able to complete the assessment on a tablet.
