Why study this course?

Preparing you for the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), this course replaces the postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice (commonly referred to as the LPC) as the new route for becoming a solicitor.

Designed for law graduates looking to practise law, you’ll gain the additional skills, knowledge and essential preparation in order to complete the SQE Part One examination.

More about this course

This postgraduate certificate in Professional Legal Practice prepares you to take the first part of the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), which replaces the Legal Practice Course (LPC) route to practising law.

Centrally managed by educational establishment KAPLAN, the SQE route consists of two assessments followed by proof of two years’ practical experience.

Providing you with the functioning legal knowledge subjects as set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, this course will prepare you to take the first exam of the two SQE assessments.

You’ll gain a comprehensive understanding and in-depth knowledge of various legal issues, so that you’re confidently able to analyse complex problems and make informed decisions to resolve them.

London Met is one of the highest quality providers of legal practice qualifications in London, so rest assured you’re in good hands to prepare you for your career as a solicitor.

Assessment

You’ll be assessed on this course via two multiple-choice tests. The syllabus and assessments mirror those of the professional examinations, as they reflect the assessment of the centralised SQE Part One examination.
