Ms Rolande Anderson

Rolande Anderson has had a wide-ranging senior career in Government, and now works as an independent non-executive.

Rolande is currently a Governor of London Metropolitan University, a Senior Assessor at the College of Policing and a Trustee of St Mungo’s, Citizens’ Advice and the mentoring charity Brightside.

Rolande is also an Honorary Associate of Newnham College, Cambridge, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

In Government, Rolande was Director General of the Office for Civil Society in the Cabinet Office until 2010 and prior to that held a range of senior roles including Regional Director of the Government Office for the South-East of England and Chief Executive of the Radiocommunications Agency.

Rolande has mentored on Government schemes for women and for disabled and black and minority ethnic (BME) civil servants, and currently mentors on the Whitehall and Industry Group Women’s Leadership Programme.

Rolande Anderson has had a wide-ranging senior career in Government, and now works as Vice Chair of Governors.

She is a member of the Bar Standards Board which regulates barristers; she chairs its Equalities and Diversity Committee, and is a member of the Education and Training Committee. She is a member of the Council of the national volunteering charity CSV and a Trustee of the mentoring charity Brightside. She was also involved in the housing sector; for many years as a non-executive Director of Genesis Housing. She is an Honorary Associate and member of the Campaign Board of Newnham College, Cambridge, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

In Government, she was Director General of the Office for Civil Society in the Cabinet Office until 2010 and prior to that, Director-General for Transformation and Corporate Services at the Office for National Statistics. Earlier postings included the roles of Regional Director of the Government Office for the South-East of England and Chief Executive of the Radiocommunications Agency (now part of Ofcom).

Rolande has been a mentor on Government schemes for women and for disabled and BME civil servants, and currently mentors on the Whitehall and Industry Group Women’s Leadership Programme.
