Cecile Tschirhart is the elected Academic Governor for London Metropolitan University and is currently a member of the Finance and Resources Committee. She has held a wide range of senior posts at London Met,and is currently Head of Student Experience and Academic Outcomes at London Met's Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design, The Cass.
She was awarded a prestigious National Teaching Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in 2006. She is also a Senior Fellow of the HEA.
Cecile is a linguist, specialising in the interactive delivery of learning materials both in class and online. She is the co-author of Foundations French 1, a popular French course book aimed at higher education (HE) students, which is in its third edition.
Cecile is an advocate and practitioner for socially inclusive education. Her special interests are:
- widening participation
- teaching and learning
- student as partners
Cecile was the Chair of Governors for Manorside Primary School and she was a member of the Governance Committee at London Metropolitan University.
