Cecile Tschirhart is the elected Academic Governor for London Metropolitan University and is currently a member of the Finance and Resources Committee. She has held a wide range of senior posts at London Met,and is currently Head of Student Experience and Academic Outcomes at London Met's School of Art, Architecture and Design.
She was awarded a prestigious National Teaching Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in 2006. She is also a Senior Fellow of the HEA.
Cecile is a linguist, specialising in the interactive delivery of learning materials both in class and online. She is the co-author of Foundations French 1, a popular French course book aimed at higher education (HE) students, which is in its third edition.
Cecile is an advocate and practitioner for socially inclusive education. Her special interests are:
- widening participation
- teaching and learning
- student as partners
Cecile was the Chair of Governors for Manorside Primary School and she was a member of the Governance Committee at London Metropolitan University.
