Employability, placements & careers
At London Met we take our students' future employment seriously and are committed to helping you build rewarding careers.
Here, students can expect to develop skills relevant to their future professions. We design and update our courses so that they are directly relevant to the current employment market. We help students find placements, work experience and voluntary opportunities across a wide variety of organisations.
All undergraduates take an employability module in their second year. Students taking accredited courses may engage with employers through work based learning. Postgraduate and research students have dedicated career planning support and our graduates can access these services for up to three years.
Student volunteering programme
The vibrant student-volunteering programme, Reach, offers students the chance to work in community-based organisations. Our students gain nationally recognised awards in volunteering and compete successfully in business-led competitions.
Student enterprise
Students interested in starting their own business can get advice and even funding for start ups through our enterprise programme.
Our thriving enterprise culture at London Met includes the Student enterprise society which has over 700 members. London Met's business-to-business activities include a specialised site devoted to business creation and support, consultancy and individual professional development and career enhancement services.
Careers service
Our careers service has regular recruitment fairs, workshops with employers, skills training, CV advice, one-to-one expert support and confidence building sessions.
Our campuses in the City and Islington put students next to global corporations and London's creative heart. These locations present unrivalled opportunities to get involved with employers directly. We work with local businesses to advertise vacancies and give students the necessary support to apply for positions.

"Being part of the international community at London Met has been a really positive experience"
