Information about welcome events

HeadStart is your opportunity to come along and find out about life at London Met, meet fellow students and get answers to any questions you have about coming here. There will be activities for undergraduate students, postgraduate students and mature learners.

At the event you'll have the opportunity to discover the social activities we offer, find out about student job opportunities, quiz lecturers and current students about your course and much more. If those aren't enough reasons to come, we're also throwing in a free lunch and a goody bag.

We'll be running different sessions designed to help you settle in to student life at London Met.

We want you to be happy and healthy while you study so we'll be talking to you about our student clubs and societies, sports teams and gym facilities.

To round off the day you'll have the opportunity to socialise with new and current students. Although it's not compulsory to attend, it's a great way to get to know London Met before you join and get a head start in becoming a successful student.

There's a lot to look forward to at London Met during freshers' fortnight - we have two weeks of amazing entertainment planned.

There are events to suit every taste - from 'speed meets', comedy and karaoke to gigs, club nights, quizzes and more. It's a great opportunity to make new friends and explore University social life. The fortnight also includes your faculty welcome event and the University freshers' fair.

All events within freshers' fortnight (except for the freshers' welcome party) are free for freshers - with your complimentary wristband. You can get this from The Rocket at Holloway, or from the events team visiting enrolment areas and your faculty welcome events.

Holloway: Thursday 6 October 2016, 11am - 4pm, The Great Hall and The Rocket

The London Met freshers' fair is a huge exhibition that is free to attend for all students. Included in the fair are all the London Met societies, sports, together with local and national companies, live entertainment, sports demos, music, and food and drink. It's your chance to be given more free stuff than you carry, sign up to all societies London Met has to offer, and generally get to know about uni and the surrounding area. All new and returning students are welcome.
