Careers

Career opportunities

Graduates from this degree course are able to embark upon careers in the general area of Mathematics Statistics and Operational Research as well Computing applications. Graduates with skills in Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research coupled with IT are in demand and the Faculty has a reputation for providing opportunities for students to study modules, such as Mathematical Modelling, simulation and data mining that are particularly relevant in the work place.
In addition the graduates from this course can proceed to PGCE in Secondary Mathematics Teaching as well as MSc Mathematics areas.

The Faculty of Computing's World of Work (WoW) Agency offers opportunities to enhance employability skills, gain real experience and 'earn while you learn' through placements into real client-driven projects - working with business and industry

What our students say

“Being away from education for numerous years, starting my year 1 doing a degree in Mathematical Science gave me a great opportunity to refresh my knowledge around the basics of Mathematical techniques and algebra. Also, it provided me the opportunity to learn different fields of Mathematics. This gave me the confidence to switch to Pure Mathematics and I am enjoying my studies.” Johnny Beggache, second year.

“Tutors are always very willing to help with the work. They are very open to talk to, even on personal issues." National Student Survey entry, anonymous.

“I've been amazed to see such a mix of students from all over the world studying at London met. It is definitely a good uni for international students as they provide equal opportunities for everyone and community involvement for students.”  National Student Survey entry, anonymous.
