The Women’s Library has an excellent collection of suffrage-related material. One of the aims of the original Library when it was established in 1926 was to preserve and record the votes for women campaign. From anti-suffrage postcards to pro-suffrage newspapers, from banners to badges, our resources give a fascinating insight into the campaign and the period.

Access to suffrage resources for schools
We are currently reviewing the sessions we offer school history groups on votes for women. In the meantime, we can provide an education space and extensive handling materials for teachers to use independently with their students by arrangement. We also offer guided tours of the Reading Room and the current exhibition for groups of 8 or more. To discuss your requirements or to book please contact us.

Access to suffrage resources for students over 14
Students focusing on suffrage for their coursework are warmly welcome to research at The Women’s Library. Anyone over 14 can register as a reader and use the Reading Room. For more detailed information on what’s available, please read our Source Notes on Women and Suffrage.
