Five women trafficked from Lithuania, Russia and Sierra Leone to work in the UK sex industry and now supported by the POPPY project visited the Library every day for a week and worked with filmmaker Anis Joslin to develop filmmaking skills and together determine what they wanted to portray.
The result, Sold Feelings, was lyrical, distressing and hopeful. In it the women reflected on their experiences, exploring their emotional journeys and hopes for the future. Sold Feelings was on view throughout the duration of the exhibition Prostitution: What’s Going On? and since then has been used by POPPY in training with the police.
Sold Feelings was funded by The Indigo Trust.
