Work with Key Stage Two

[Next]

For Wash day in the Library, Key Stage Two pupils from The Hague Primary, Mowlem Primary, Shapla Primary, and William Davis Primary visited The Women’s Library to learn about the Victorians and how they did their washing, as well as developing their literacy skills. The project was funded by the Spitalfields Market Community Trust and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

In Where does my dinner come from?, pupils from the William Davis Primary School visited the library every afternoon for a week. They learnt how to use The Women's Library's resources, finding out about the Dewey classification system, the indices and contents pages of books, and the library catalogue. They used the catalogue to research recipes and cookery books, as well as being shown books from the closed access collections and taught their importance. The project was funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
