London teenagers experienced the constraints of fashions past and present as part of our summer school on body image.
Run in collaboration with the Wellcome Library, the project saw 12-14 year-old girls from a number of London schools take part in a range of activities over a week in August 2007.
As well as visiting the V&A's fashion galleries and trying on historical costumes to better understand changes in the ideal body shape, they made animations on the 'size zero' debate and worked together on a zine about how to feel good in their bodies with zine-maker Charlotte Cooper.
The result, Things that make us feel good!, is now part of the Library's zine collection. More information - The Women's Library zine collection - Past learning projects
