Enquiry Desk
Reading Room staff are available to assist researchers in person; enquiries are also accepted by phone, fax, post, and email. The Library has various catalogues, guides, and finding aids for its collections. Most published materials are catalogued on the university's online catalogue, and our archive and museum collections catalogue can be searched online too. This website also contains an archives guide; in addition, we have printed finding aids available in the Reading Room.

Tours and Library Introduction Sessions
General group tours of the Reading Room and Exhibition Hall are available from staff and volunteers, but in addition to this, Reading Room staff offer tours and Library introduction sessions specially developed for graduate and undergraduate level courses.

All tours must be scheduled in advance and are dependent on staff availability. Please contact us for more information.

Photocopying and digital copying
A self-service photocopier for copying open access books and periodicals is available in the Reading Room. Copy cards can be purchased from reception in the following denominations: £2, £5 and £10.

A self-service digital copying service is available for copying some material in closed stacks which is unsuitable for photocopying. Please contact us for more information about digital copying.

Laptop computers
Readers can use their own laptop computers in the Reading Room.

Microfiche and microfilm
There are three digital reader-printers available in the Reading Room.

Image reproduction
We offer a photographic service, providing high-quality reproduction. Please contact us for more information. Reproductions of some of our visual materials are available through the Mary Evans Picture Library.

Carrels
The Reading Room has three private study carrels for hire, suitable for researchers undertaking a long period of research. If you interested, please contact us.

Access to electronic resources
A range of electronic resources can be accessed in the Reading Room. The staff at the Enquiry Desk can advise further on identifying and using electronic resources.

Access to collections in the Reading Room
The Reading Room has equipment and services to help visitors access the collections.
