Alison Wells, University Secretary

University Secretary & Clerk to the Board, Alison Wells BA (Hons), PG Dip

Alison Wells joined London Metropolitan University as University Secretary and Clerk to the Board in July 2011, having previously worked at De Montfort University in Leicester as Director of Corporate Affairs and Clerk to the Board for a number of years.  
 
An expert in corporate governance and in corporate communications, Alison has a degree in English Literature and a postgraduate diploma in HR management.  She has worked extensively in the public sector, particularly higher education and in the NHS, including a secondment working for the Chief Medical Officer on policy development. She has also run training and development sessions for professionals looking to move into non-executive roles in the public sector and written a range of executive communications, including speeches, for a number of public figures.
 
When not busy at work, Alison enjoys running, walking in the Peak District with friends and helping her children with their homework.
