Counselling and Wellbeing

  • The Counselling and Wellbeing Service provides one-to-one counselling, giving you an opportunity to talk in confidence about any personal or emotional difficulties that may be concerning you.
  • It is time and space to examine, clarify and understand your concerns and explore and develop more effective ways of dealing with them
  • The role of the counsellor is to provide support and helpin the process of exploration, understanding and change
  • Some common issues include: growth and development, problems with studies and exams, personal relationships, identity, loneliness, anxiety, depression, anger, suicidal feelings, homesickness, family problems, sex and sexuality, cultural issues, life changes, bereavement and loss, eating difficulties, drug or alcohol problems, life crises, mental health issues, experiences of abuse and discrimination

Disabilities and Dyslexia

  • A range of support for disabled and dyslexic students
  • Register your disability, long-term medical or mental health condition or a specific learning disability, such as dyslexia to receive services and facilities such as:
    • Individual needs assessments
    • Special examination arragements
    • Help with finding an academic support worker
    • Screening if you suspect you may be dyslexic
    • Specialist ICT and tutorial support
