London Metropolitan University regularly receives requests from third parties for information relating to students, both past and present. In the vast majority of cases, explicit consent is required from the student before disclosure can take place; in fact, the circumstances under which any personal information may be disclosed without student authorisation are fairly limited.
However, there are circumstances under which disclosure may be made in the absence of student consent, and these are included in the following guidance notes. (Please click on the appropriate category).
NOTE: If in any doubt, please contact Peter Fisher (x 3001; Email - p.fisher@londonmet.ac.uk) prior to taking any action.
