    • Journal of Commerce (mostly FREE)
      Good for Maritime, Economical and US specific news. Some of the news are now under registration only. Still a significant amount that is available for free.

    • Break-Bulk (mostly FREE)
      Sisterwebsite of JoC for break-bulk / General Cargo news.

    • Lloyd’s List
      Online version of the daily newspaper. Some of it is free.

    • CI-online
      The premier news and information service for the container industry

    • TradeWinds
      Some free news.

      Available at Londonmet via the library catalogue.

    • AXS – Alphaliner
      An information platform designed to serve the needs of the liner shipping industry. Access to some free information.

    • Hellenic Shipping News
      Despite its name, this website looks at the industry globally. They tend to source from other articles found on the internet. So make sure you quote the actual source (bottom of the news pieces) rather than HSN.

    • Maritime News
      Similar to Hellenic Shipping News in essence.

    • The Shipper’s Voice
      Website to give a voice to shippers. This is heavily shipper-focused but there are regularly news about trade that are interesting.

    • Handy Shipping Guide
      Not a website that relates shipping news on a regular basis, but sometimes some interesting pieces about Freight Forwarding and/or economy.

    • Bloomberg (mostly FREE)
      Best source for macro-economic news. Because their articles are often rather extensive, you may wish to focus on news pieces on consumption, production and sentiment in key regions (EU, US, North East Asia).

      You should also look at their Industry/Transportation section. It’s more often aviation and automobile focused but there’re are sometimes news pieces where they look at companies books in more details than other sites.

    • Reuters
      Mostly free and you can select the market (country) of interest. As well as News & Markets you can also look at Sectors and Industries and Analysis and Opinion.

  • Port Cities
    Covers five UK Ports. Voyages, ports, history, people, origins and much more! Discover the maritime histories of UK port cities. Select a port from the list and explore the diverse history and culture of PortCities UK.

  • Ports (UK)
    Associated British Ports site.

  • Portfocus
    Marine transportation links, maritime services, yacht and boat supplies, shipping cruise and sea freight links, bunker fuels and bunkering, ports, harbours and marinas. Choose sovereign country (also for islands and dependencies, e.g. island of St Maartens falls under the Netherlands) then select the port.

    SeaWeb is a North American, not-for-profit ocean information service for government officials, the media, and interested public.
