    ScienceDirect is a comprehensive web information source for the world's scientific, technical and medical research. It holds Elsevier Journal Collection.
    ScienceDirect offers access to over 100 journals in Materials Science. Users may browse across thousands of records with full text articles.

  • ISI Web of Knowledge database
    ISI Web of Knowledge is a collection of databases which include Science Citation Index and the Index to Scientific and Technical Proceedings.

    ISI Web of Knowledge gives access to:

    • Web of Science
      Covers the Science Citation Index Expanded. It covers references and abstracts (summaries) to scientific journal articles. Coverage is from 1970 onwards.
    • ISI Proceedings
      It covers conference papers and literature meetings. Coverage is from 1990 onwards.

    Acces is via the online Library catalogue.

  • Polymer Library (formerly RAPRA Abstracts)
    Polymer Library is a bibliographic database comprising of over 850,000 indexed abstracts (summaries) covering literature published since 1972 on plastics and rubber. Source materials include over 300 journals, together with conference papers, specifications and standards, books, reports, press releases, company literature, data sheets and directories.

    It has also patent records from 1994-2001, except adhesives patents 1994-2006.

  • RAM database (Recent Advances in Manufacturing)
    This is accessed from Intute: Science, Engineering and Technology. RAM is a bibliographic database for manufacturing and related areas. It covers indexed items in over 500 mainstream journals and magazines and also details of books, videos and conference proceedings. Coverage is from 1990 onwards.

  • Zetoc: Electronic Table of Contents from the British Library
    ZETOC provides access to the British Library's Electronic Table of Contents (ETOC). The database contains contents pages of approximately 20,000 current journals and details of 16,000 conference proceedings. The database can be searched for references and abstracts (summaries) to journal articles and conferences. It covers science (inc. mathematics, computing), technology, medicine, engineering, business, law, finance and the humanities from 1993 to date and is updated daily.
