Finding Law Reports and Cases

--

Finding law reports
  • Use the Library Catalogue to find details of printed and online law reports.
  • Law reports are on Floor 2 (via the staircase from the Journals area). See Calcutta Law Reports for a map of the location. They are divided into 3 sections, English law, European Union Law and Foreign Law, and are arranged alphabetically by title.
  • All the printed reports are for reference use only (you cannot borrow them).
  • For the online version of a law report follow the instructions in the AVAILABLE ONLINE box to log on to it.
If there is no catalogue link, use Westlaw or Lexis Library to search for individual cases.

Tip: if your citation or reference is incomplete or abbreviated, use the Cardiff Law Abbreviations Guide to find the full title.

To find the original printed case report:

  • Check the Library Catalogue to see if we hold that law reports series.
  • The law reports series are shelved alphabetically by title – when you have found it, look for the year, volume and page number given in the case citation.

Tip: if your citation or reference is incomplete or abbreviated, use the Cardiff Law Abbreviations Guide to find the full title.
