Referencing your work
You are required to follow the Harvard Referencing Method. An explanation of this method can be found on our Citing Your References web site.

Evaluating web sites: There is a lot of useful information available for free on the web. Government websites such as www.statistics.gov.uk provide UK leisure & travel statistics data, visitor attractions figures, and social trends data. There is also useful information on various Government department websites. Some trade associations, various museum/leisure/travel organisations, and Academic institutes offer free information to the public via their websites.

Websites can be set up by anyone, so here are a few things you can check out:

What does the URL address tell you? .gov or .uk or .org or .ac as part of their address.

Who are we/am I? Always check out the "About Us" or the "Who am I", "Biography" or "Background" sections.

Is the Information Current? How often is the site updated? Check the bottom of the home page for current date.

What is the tone of the site? Is it authoritative, satirical or humorous?
