Full Text Resources
  • Communication and Mass Media Complete
    This database indexes and provides abstracts for articles from over 400 journals in the field of communications and mass media, including language and linguistics. Also includes links to full text for many journal articles. Many journals are covered from their first issues to the present.

  • JSTOR
    A full-text digital archive of core scholarly journals starting with the very first issues. Some Language journals are available. Back runs only. For the most recent three to five years you will need to use other services. Allows you to search by subject, or browse individual issues.

  • Literature Online
    Although this is primarily a literary database it does include a diverse range of reference resources, plus ABELL, (the MHRA's Annual bibliography of English Language and Literature) which has links to the full text of over 100 journals, including one or two language ones.

Abstracts and Indexes
  • MLA International Bibliography
    Provides references on literature, language, film and theatre. Full references are given to articles in over 3,500 journals; to books and to book chapters, and to theses.

  • Zetoc
    The ZETOC service provides access to the British Library's Electronic Table of Contents (ETOC). The database contains details of approximately 20,000 current journals and 16,000 conference proceedings published per year, from 1993 onwards. With almost 15 million article and conference records, the database covers many subject areas in science, technology, medicine, engineering, business, law, finance and the humanities.
