  • Academic Search Complete
    A large multidisciplinary database that provides access to full text articles across academic fields. It contains indexes and abstracts for more than 8,300 journals, with full text for more than 4,500 of those titles.

  • Business Source Complete
    Excellent database for full text articles about economics and finance. Includes such journals as Economic Quarterly, Journal of Applied Economics, Journal of Business and Economic Studies and the Journal of Economic and Social Research.

  • Emerald Management eJournals
    Good for topics such as international economics, ethics & economics and social economics. Includes International Journal of Social Economics and Journal of Economic Studies.

  • IngentaConnect
    Can be quite a complicated database for beginners as much content is not full text. However it is good for accounting and economics and includes articles from Applied economics, Cambridge journal of economics and Journal of economic surveys.

  • JSTOR
    JSTOR includes archives of over one thousand academic journals across the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. The entire collection is full-text searchable and is interlinked by millions of citations and references. The database has its Business specific collection, which holds more than 100 journal titles.

  • Sage Journals Online
    You can search for articles across all Sage online journals, but access to full text is only available for articles from journals subscribed to by the library. You can access such journals as National Institute Economic Review, Public Finance Review. See what's available by clicking on the Sage Contents available to me button.

  • Science Direct
    This is another large database providing information on Science, Technology and Medicine but also covers Business, Management and Accounting, Economics, Econometrics and Finance and Social Sciences fields.

  • Word Bank e-Library
    This is an electronic portal to the World Bank's full-text collection of final, peer-reviewed versions of books, reports, journal articles and working papers. It brings together, in a fully-indexed and cross-searchable database, and in PDF format, over 6000 titles published by the World Bank since 2000, as well as every new title as it becomes available in print.     Orbis is a global database containing financial information, including ratios, on public and private companies including banks. Orbis searches over one million private and public companies worldwide for balance sheets, income statements, mergers information and stock prices. You can compare companies and download graphs and charts.

    Orbis replaces the Amadeus database. We are now subscribing to Orbis instead of Amadeus because it provides information on companies worldwide rather than only in Europe.

Datastream data can be downloaded, manipulated and exported into spreadsheets for graphs and charts. Please book ahead as these are popular databases.
