SCONUL Access

  • Scheme allows access to many university libraries in the UK.
  • All students and academic staff are able to join this scheme.
  • Reference only access for full-time undergraduate students.
  • Limited borrowing for part-time undergraduate, all postgraduate and research students and academic staff.

British Library (at St Pancras)

  • The British Library is a research library and is reference only.
  • Students (undergraduate and taught postgraduate) are normally asked to demonstrate a specific research need not catered for elsewhere before gaining access.
  • Students, researchers and academic staff are asked for two forms of ID.
  • Check the web site for opening times, location, and forms of ID needed for a reader’s pass.
  • Consult the British Library Catalogue before you visit.

Institution of Engineering Technology Library

  • The IET Library covers all aspects of computing, including multimedia, communications technology and electronics, including networks.
  • It is open as a reference library to all.
  • Students may be able to join the IET or take out Library-only membership for a small fee and then borrow from the library or use their electronic resources.
  • Search Library online catalogue.
  • Bookshop within the library.

InforM25 Consortium of Higher Education Libraries

  • Academic libraries bounded by the M25.
  • Academic staff and researchers are able to join the InforM25 Consortium in order to access those libraries that are NOT part of the SCONUL Access scheme.
  • The Web site allows cross-searching of multiple library catalogues.
