Databases for Applied Translation Studies & Interpreting

--

Indexes - to help you find book references and periodical articles

These databases index most of the journals in the world on the subject; the University only subscribes to a small proportion of these. So what you find may not be kept in the Library. In this case, apply for an Interlibrary loan or, better still, go to one of the London libraries in the SCONUL Access scheme.

The only database specific to Translation Studies and Interpreting is:

  • BITRA (Bibliography of Interpreting & Translation)
This site comprises more than 23,000 entries (books, chapters, articles, journals, dissertations), with more than 3,000 including abstracts and more than 1,000 including tables of contents, making up a database on translation and interpreting created in June 2001, and assembled and coordinated by Javier Franco at the University of Alicante. It is updated once a month.
