British Organisations
  • Association of Accounting Technicians
    The AAT is an established and well-respected professional membership body with over 100,000 student, full and fellow members worldwide.

  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
    ACCA is a leading professional accountancy body which is international, having over 57,000 members and 125,000 students throughout the world. There is information on careers and qualifications, training, events plus articles on accounting related topics.

  • Association of Taxation Technicians
    The ATT is the leading professional body for those providing tax compliance services and related activities in the UK.

  • British Accounting Association
    BAA aims to advance knowledge and understanding of accounting through education and research.

  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
    CIMA is a membership body that offers an internationally recognised professional qualification in management accountancy, which focuses on accounting for business.

  • Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy
    CIPFA is the only professional body that specialises in the public sector. It is responsible for the education and training of professional accountants and for their regulation through the setting and monitoring of professional standards.

  • Chartered Institute of Taxation
    The CIT is the professional body for Chartered Tax Advisors.

  • Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
    ICAEW is the largest professional accountancy body in Europe with over 128,000 members. The site contains a news information service, an area for accountancy students, a section on Institute policy and another on ethics and professional standards.

  • Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland
    ICAS was the world's first professional body of accountants, receiving its Royal Charter in 1854. It was the first to adopt the designation "Chartered Accountant" and the designatory letters " CA " are still an exclusive privilege in the UK for members of the Scottish Institute.

  • Institute of Internal Auditors
    The IIA is the professional body for internal auditing, working to support, promote and train professionals who work in it.

European Organisations
  • European Accounting Association
    The EAA aims to link together the Europe-wide community of accounting scholars and researchers, to provide a platform for the wider dissemination of European accounting research and to foster and improve research.

  • European Finance Association
    The aim of the Association is to provide a professional society for academics and practitioners with an interest in financial management, financial theory and its application.

  • Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland
    ICAI is the largest and longest established accountancy body in Ireland. It has over 15,000 members.

  • Irish Accounting & Finance Association
    The IAFA was established in 1986. It is an academic organisation whose aim is to promote high quality research and teaching of accounting, finance and related subjects, particularly in the Irish third level education sector. The association also provides many opportunities for networking within the academic and professional accounting communities.

  • American Accounting Association
    Founded in 1916 as the American Association of University Instructors in Accounting, its present name was adopted in 1936. The Association is a voluntary organization of persons interested in accounting education and research.

  • Accounting & Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand
    AFAANZ is the official body representing the interests of accounting and finance academics and other persons interested in accounting and finance education and research in Australia and New Zealand.

  • International Federation of Accountants
    IFAC is the global body for the accounting profession. A key commitment is to develop high quality international accounting standards as well as to promote ethical practice.
