How do I book a Library Study Room?

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Study rooms are for use by groups of students, not individuals.
You can only have 1 booking at a time.
Keys must be collected promptly or your booking will be terminated.
HEAVY FINES ARE CHARGED IF THE KEY IS RETURNED LATE

  • If found eating or drinking anything but water in library study rooms, the person to whom the key is issued, will be banned from booking a study room for a 3 month period.

  1. Access the Library Catalogue on one of the catalogue terminals in the Library or go to http://catalogue.londonmet.ac.uk/.

  2. Using keyword search type ‘study room’ and click on "SEARCH". You will see a list of the Study Rooms in the five libraries.

Click on the blue text for the room location you want.

  3. To book a room, click on the "Book Short Loan Item" button.

  4. Log in using your University IT Username and Password.

    Click on "SUBMIT".

  5. Now you can select which day, month and time you’d like to book a room from. Remember to select AM or PM.

You can view the hourly calendar by clicking on the "View Hourly Calendar".

    When ready click on "SUBMIT".

  6. Choose the room you would like by clicking in the "Mark" column (only those available will appear as an option).

Note: "Current bookings" are listed under each room so you can see when each study room is already booked.

  7. Choose the end time for your booking. You can only make one booking per day, for a maximum of two hours.

When ready click on "SUBMIT" ONCE and wait. It will take a few seconds for the system to acknowledge your request.

  8. If your booking has been successful the following screen appears.

    Click on "OK".

If you have selected a time when the library isn’t open, the system will prompt you.
You will then need to adjust your booking time.

If there is already a booking immediately prior to or following the time you have selected, you will need to adjust the time by ten minutes to secure your booking. For example, if you want to book 3-4 PM and a booking already exists for 4-5 PM you will need to select 3.50 PM as the end time

If you encounter problems, please ask a member of Library Staff.
