What is it? More than half the UK's higher education libraries belong to SCONUL Access. If you are eligible to use this scheme, you can use any number of these libraries for reference.
Please check individual library websites before visiting them for the first time as there may be certain times when you are not allowed access.
Remember that you cannot borrow material from these libraries unless you are eligible to join the SCONUL Access borrowing scheme.
The scheme does not provide access to IT facilities except via the Eduroam scheme.
How to register: Check SCONUL Access to see which libraries you are entitled to use. Download an application form from the SCONUL Access website. Complete the form and take it to a Library Information Desk with your University ID card. If you are in good standing with the library (i.e. no outstanding books or charges), we will issue you with a SCONUL Access library card.
Please check the web sites of participating libraries for their opening hours and other information. If you need specialist help during your visit, remember to telephone the libraries in advance
You must always take your London Metropolitan University ID card with you when you visit another library.
Partnership students If you are on a franchised course, please contact the London Metropolitan University SCONUL Access rep to check whether you are eligible to join the scheme.
