SCONUL Access (for borrowing) - Undergraduate Students

More than half the UK's higher education libraries belong to SCONUL Access. If you are registered as a part-time student, placement student or distance learner, you can use any Band B library for reference and borrow some material
  • Please check individual library websites before visiting them for the first time as there may be certain times when you are not allowed access.
  • Check with each individual library how many items you are allowed to borrow. There may also be some types of library material which you are not allowed to borrow.
  • The scheme does not provide access to IT facilities except via the Eduroam scheme.

How to register:

Download an application form from the SCONUL Access website. Complete the form and take it to a Library Information Desk with your University ID card. If you are in good standing with the library (i.e. no outstanding books or charges), we will issue you with a SCONUL Access library card.

Please check the web sites of participating libraries for their opening hours and other information. If you need specialist help during your visit, remember to telephone the libraries in advance

When you visit a participating library, please take your London Metropolitan University ID card, as well as your SCONUL Access Card. You may also need to supply a passport-sized photograph of yourself – check in advance. You can find all the information about the SCONUL Access scheme, including a printable list of member libraries, at SCONUL Access.
