Cycling

London Met is working with cycling safety agencies, local councils, the police and they Mayor's Office to develop a strategy for encouraging cycling and ensuring the safety of cyclists. We are also planning to expand the availability of cycle racks near University buildings.

London Metropolitan University’s buildings are also easily accessible by public transport. The Estates 'Getting Here' page will help you plan journeys on public transport.

More details on the cycling projects can be found on this page and through the links on the sidebar.

Cycling to London Met

There are various routes available to cyclists commuting to either North or City Campuses.

Cycle Hire at City Campus

Transport for London's Cycle Hire Scheme has various docking stations in and around our city campus, see their map for the docking locations.

Barclay's Cycle Hire is now open to everyone. People can sign up as members or just use their credit or debit card at the docking station terminal to access a bike as a casual user.

Cycle to work scheme for London Met Employees

London Met is dedicated to meeting society's needs through a socially responsible agenda. We are particularly proud of our achievements in reducing our carbon footprint. London Met has its own cycle to work scheme, which allows employees to benefit from a long term loan of a bike and commuting equipment completely tax free.

London Cycling Campaign

London Metropolitan University is a corporate member of the London Cycling Campaign (LCC).  LCC aim to promote cycling in London, thus making the City a healthier and happier place for everyone.  There is a strong emphasis on safety for the cyclist and a range of services are provided by the LCC to promote this important aspect of the activity. All LondonMet staff and students are eligible for a 50% reduction on individual membership fees as a result of our corporate membership.  Individual membership gives access to a range of other benefits including: money off at bike shops (up to 15% at 120 shops), third party insurance, regular E-newsletters, route-planners and a legal helpline.
