ID Cards
ID cards will be issued within 1-2 working days of receipt of all documents necessary to authorise/process their creation. Documents, forms and photographs should be sent to TM3-08 via internal post - not delivered in person.
New staff ID cards
Before a new employee starts, HR Operations will raise a memo with a barcode. This is emailed to ISS, where the name of the individual is entered onto the University's database and a user name created.
- A copy of the memo is sent to the new employee.
- The new employee sends a copy of the memo with his/her passport size photograph to Staff ID Cards, TM3-02, Tower Complex.
- An ID card is then produced and forwarded to the Line Manager.
- The new employee can collect ID from the Line manager on their start date.
Note: Names must be on the database for the card to be processed.
Temporary/Visitor Cards
- Requests for these cards must come via Line Managers or Department Administrators.
- Name, Department/Faculty and contract end date must be included in the request, which should be sent to ask@londonmet.ac.uk.
- Cards are processed and sent to the Line Manager's internal address, which should be provided with the initial request.
- Cards should then be collected from the Line Manager.
Note: Barcodes are not issued with these cards.
Contractors
- Requests for these cards must come via Line Managers or Department Administrators.
- A letter of request, with a passport size photo, should be sent to: Staff ID Cards, TM3-08, Tower Complex.
- Please include the contract end date and where to send the completed card.
Hourly Paid Lecturers (HPLs) + Casuals
- A memo requesting an ID card for an HPL should be sent by the HPL's Departmental Administrator to the relevant Administrator in HR.
- The HR Administrator will return the memo to the Departmental Administrator, with a barcode attached.
- A copy of the memo is then given to the HPL by the Departmental Administrator.
- The new HPL sends the memo with passport size photo to: Staff ID Cards, TM3-08, Tower Complex.
- The ID Card is processed and sent to the Line Manager or Departmental Administrator's internal address, which should be provided with the intial request.
Replacement of Expired temporary ID cards for extension
- An email from the employee's Line Manager/Department Administrator or HR is required to confirm the extension of expired cards - the exact date the card will be extended to must be included.
Replacement of Cards - Stolen, Lost, Damaged, Premerger cards
- Please email ask@londonmet.ac.uk with a request for a replacement card.
- Cards are processed and sent to an internal address, which should be provided with the intial request.
