Further Training

Education at London Metropolitan University runs courses for primary and secondary teacher trainees as well as a large number of courses in continuing professional development (CPD). CPD provides a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate awards, including awards in Early Childhood Education, Diplomas, MAs and PhDs.

Quite often, practising teachers come into the Department on special day and extended courses run by our staff to update their expertise. Employment-based routes into teaching are administered via the CPD Office.

Many staff members are carrying out research in education, often with special reference to the inner city, multilingual, multicultural environment. We also have an Institute for Policy Studies in Education and run nationally known projects. The IT Learning Exchange, offering IT training and assistance, is also part of Education at London Met.

We have strong international links and there are opportunities for teachers and Trainees to take part in professional exchanges with colleagues in the USA.
