Professional Values and Practice

(Standards 1.1 - 1.8)

To what extent has the Trainee:

  • been able to communicate and promote positive attitudes, values and behaviour effectively, positively and explicitly both in the classroom and in the school?
  • used past pupil performance to inform new challenging teaching and learning objectives, leading to high expectations?
  • paid due regard to issues related to the backgrounds of the pupils and the parents/carers?
  • sought out and made use of resources which are relevant to the children's experiences (e.g. culture, religion, level of ability, EAL experiences)?
  • provided learning opportunities to ensure that pupils from all background make progress?
  • used the experiences that children bring with them in a positive way within the learning context?
  • taken into account the first language of individual pupils?
  • been fair and just to all pupils, without demonstrating favouritism?

  • a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the adults who work in the school?
