The archive consists of papers relating to the life and work of novelist Eliza Tabor. It includes original diaries, photographs, novel manuscripts and correspondence of Eliza Tabor. It also contains a manuscript biography of Tabor by her friend Mary Johnson (1912) and research papers of her biographer Marjorie Broughall (1961). (1 A box)

7HBE Papers of Helen Bentwich (c.1910-c.1960) *NEW*
The archive includes material relating to Helen's youth, her family and her later political career. The majority of the archive comprises correspondence; over 2,000 individual letters, spanning the period from around 1914 until the 1960s. Including letters written from Cairo during the First World War; letters to Norman re the land army, work at Woolwich Arsenal and trade union activity, also re her brother Hugh Franklin's suffrage activities; letters to her mother from Jerusalem, 1919-1932 re the British Mandate, Palestine, Jerusalem and the Jewish nation. It includes a photograph album presented by the Hindustan Times, showing Royden with Gandhi, Aruna Asaf Ali, Sarojini Naidu, Miraben and Begum Jahanara Shah Nawaz during her visit to India in 1935. Museum Photograph Collection (1869-c.2008)
A large proportion of The Women's Library Photograph Collection is comprised of portraits of famous women and significant individuals in women's campaigning. There is also a range of photographs of the birthplaces, burial places and funerals of prominent women. The main strength of the collection is in the group of photographs that represent suffrage campaigning. The images represent a wide range of activities such as suffrage arrests, elections, petitions, demonstrations, processions and exhibitions. The work undertaken by women on the Home and Western fronts is recorded in a number of photographs taken during the First and Second World Wars. There is a limited, but growing, range of photographs that document post-suffrage women's campaigning such as feminist work during the 1970s and 1980s, in the form of arrests and demonstrations. There are images relating to a few of the many 20th century women's organisations and their activities, such as conferences and debates. A small number of photographs grouped by subject illustrate women's everyday experiences in areas such as sport and education. Although focussing on the United Kingdom, the international nature of campaigning means that a number of international women or places are represented in this collection. 830 objects

It also includes the participants' answers to a questionnaire about their civil partnership. The documented ceremonies and celebrations include those held in Kent (on International Women's Day, 2006); at Bromley Town Hall in Bow; in Hertfordshire and at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue, London. This is the first part of the Maternity Alliance archive to be made available. This consists of minutes and papers of the executive and sub committees (Parts A & B of the archive) and Directors Files (Part C). The sub-committees included: the Minority Ethnic Community Working Group, the Trades Union Working Party, the Disability Working Group and the Legal Working Group. The Maternity Alliance focused their work on Education, Research into and Support for specific groups, Publications, Training, Policy and Project Work, Advisory Services and Conferences. Consists of badges representing suffrage organisations including the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies, the Women's Social & Political Union, the Women's Freedom League and faith-based organsations such as the Catholic Women's Suffrage Society and the Jewish League for Women's Suffrage. 3AMS Records of the Association for Moral and Social Hygiene
This project was funded by The Wellcome Trust. This archive consists of: administrative papers; papers relating to numerous campaigns such as opposing traffic in women and children and the state regulation of prostitution; material relating to the Association’s work in de-regulating prostitution around the world; papers relating to the International Abolitionist Federation. There are also 454 photographs: the majority are portraits of individuals connected with the Abolitionist movement; there are also some portraits of Josephine Butler and members of her family. 3JBL Josephine Butler Letters Collection
This project was funded by the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation. This collection consists of over 2,500 letters primarily by Josephine Butler, but also by key members of her family (such as her husband, Rev George Butler) and by colleagues and friends (eg Henry Wilson). Josephine Butler was a Victorian social reformer who campaigned against prostitution and the Contagious Diseases Acts (1864, 1866 and 1869). In addition to the original letters held by The Women's Library, this archive includes photocopies of correspondence held at the University of Liverpool Special Collections. (12 A boxes)

Subjects covered include: relationships with other suffragettes in prison; trials of the prison regime; Christmas in Holloway; her relationship with her mother who disapproved of her suffrage campaigning; reflections on her upbringing; employment in an office and enjoyment of her independence; her relationship with her future husband. The archive consists of a typescript autobiography, covering the years 1886-1975. The typescript is a transcript of a tape recording dictated by Dorothy Foster Place to her four children. The autobiography includes accounts of her early life and education in New Brighton; her studies in Chemistry at the University of Liverpool and King's College, London; her studies in Agriculture at Studley Agricultural College, Warwickshire; her agricultural work during the First World War and eventually work on her own farm in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire. The archive consists of papers relating to the Guildhouse Fellowship and lecture tours of Dr Agnes Maude Royden. It includes Guildhouse Fellowship newsletters (1941, 1942, 1950) and lists of key events and speakers at the Guildhouse (1921-1940). Detailed letters from Daisy Dobson report home to friends and colleagues on travels in the USA and India during Royden's world lecture tour (1928). As well as providing information on Royden's schedule, the letters describe the landscape, people and culture of the countries they visit and comment with humour and frustration on the practicalities of their trip.
