Russia's NGO Law
On 2 October 2006, the Foreign and Commonwealth office of the British Government hosted a seminar entitled 'The Implications of Russia's NGO Law for Russian and UK NGOs'. Professor Bill Bowring, the Chair of EHRAC's International Steering Committee was one of the speakers together with Alexei Zhafyarov, Head of the Federal Registration Service of the Directorate for Political Parties and the Registration of Public, Religious and Other Organisations of the Russian Federation and Yuri Dzhibladze, Director of the Centre for the Development of Democracy and Human Rights in Moscow.
