Personal Timetables

The University produces a personal timetable for each student allocating them to specific lectures and seminars. It is important that you follow your personalised timetable.

  • New Undergraduate students timetables will be available by logging on to https://portal.londonmet.ac.uk/ptimetable/prospective. Timetables will be available to prospective students who have accepted their place from Wednesday 25 January 2012.
  • Continuing Undergraduate students Where returning undergraduate students have confirmed a programme of modules and completed re-enrolment their personal timetable details for Spring Semester 2011/12 will be accessible from Friday 27 January 2012.
  • New Postgraduate students will be given a course timetable during the Welcome Programme. Individual programmes must then be planned with the Course Leader. It should be noted that in some cases more than one lecture or several seminar/practical groups maybe available. In these instances students must attend those groups for which they have been programme planned with their Course Leader.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I access the system?

There are two ways for a student to use the system.

Personal Timetables - Providing that you have registered modules for 2011/12 and have enrolled (or preregistred if you are a new student) you will be able to see your personal timetable by entering your network login and usual password at the log in prompt and then clicking 'Personal'. Your username and password is the one you use to access the University network, your University email, and the Evision system. It consists of three letters and three numbers and is printed on your University ID Card. Your password will have been advised to you previously. Once logged in, you should click on the 'My Timetable' button, ensuring that you have selected the correct semester.

Module Timeslots - If you want to look at the timeslots of modules for which you are not registered you can view all timetable slots with rooms and other details. You can do this by simply choosing the Modules option on the login screen. You do not need to enter your username and password.

If you don't know your password or are having general difficulties logging on to the University network you should contact your local IT Helpdesk who will be able to assist you.

Module Types

You will encounter the following terms as part of choosing modules:

Core
You must study these compulsory modules in order to meet the requirements of your award.
Designate
Designate modules are modules which must be chosen from a specified list (normally 2 - 4 modules). You must meet any pre-requisite requirements for these modules.
Elective
Many courses give the opportunity to study modules from other areas to enable students to broaden their experience and these are called ‘electives’
Pre-requisite
These are modules which must be taken before you may proceed to study a subsequent module(s). This is to ensure that you have an appropriate level of knowledge to study the later module(s).

If your course contains designate/elective module choices these are confirmed through a programme planning process.

Course Transfer

If you wish to change your course you should contact your Undergraduate/Postgraduate Offices. They will advise you on the process you will need to follow. Please note - course transfers are only likely to be approved at the beginning of a semester, so if you decide you want to change midway through a semester then you will still need to complete all of your assessments in that semester.
