Work Placement Programme

RAGU has 5 years experience in developing highly successful work placements for refugees with high level qualifications and professional backgrounds. We have developed fruitful partnerships with large employers in the private, public and voluntary sectors.

RAGU's unpiad part-time work placements are :

Structured and supervised

Developmental for the individual
Carefully negotiated to match employers' and refugees' needs

All work placements involve pre-placement preparation and continuous support is provided throughout. Support and training is also provided to employers on issues related to refugees entering the UK workplace.

Participation in a work placement programme is through a selection process, including an English language assessment.

Work placements are aimed at refugees with:

Professional backgrounds or high level qualifications
Very good communication skills (approximately Upper-Intermediate to Advanced level English)
The ability to demonstrate that the lack of UK work experience is the main barrier to their access to employment in the UK

PLEASE NOTE: Currently work placements are only available to students on the Graduate Certificate in Educational Support course only
