MA Graphic Design

Aura: the invisible self by Pratima Pradhan

This course encourages students with a Graphic Design or related background to re-examine the fundamental components of their Graphic Design practice -ie the manipulation of the 'triangle' of image, text & sound in order to communicate to a given audience-and re-orient their position within it. There is a particular emphasis on the context in which the work is done. The structure of the three semesters mirrors the internal
structure of most modules - research / development / production - and as a part of the Design Suite students get the opportunity to work alongside and test their ideas with/against those of other disciplines.

Modules are experimental, geared to live projects, practical and/or theoretical and run alongside a series of technical electives. This all feeds into a student-devised Major Project which concludes the final Semester in an exhibition.
