The Patchwork Quilt Project

The Patchwork Quilt Project, in celebration of International Women's Day 2018

Join us for some joined-up thinking on International Women's Day

We are organising a special event for International Women's day on Friday 9 March 2018. We hope you can come along and celebrate the unveiling of our patchwork project on the first floor of Calcutta House between 12-2pm. Lunch will be provided.

We'll be stitching together 300 patches of hand-decorated recycled material to create a collaborative quilt. Students and staff from all campuses will be contributing their creativity to express their thoughts on Women’s Day.

It would be great to have female staff and tutors from The Cass giving a small talk at the event talking about what International Women's day means to them as a woman in design. This is a great opportunity for our students to get to know our powerful female staff better. If you can volunteer your time to speak for around three minutes next Friday, please contact We would love your support in celebrating International Women’s Day!

The event is supported by London Met Students' Union, The Living Wage Foundation, NUS Green Impact, NUS Quality Students' Unions and the Matrix Standard.
