Patrick Power  

Pat Power is a senior lecturer in digital media and design and the course leader for the BA Digital Media. Once upon a time he studied and worked in archaeology but with the emergence of digital media in the early 80s he moved back to the future and morphed into a digital artist and designer. Working widely in the creative industries in London, he specialised in digital imaging and video editing, and eventually in 3D animation. In the early 90s he also worked as a researcher in interactive storytelling at Philips Research Labs.

Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1995 with an MA in Interactive Multimedia he has worked full-time in academia. Before coming to London Metropolitan University in 2001 he was a lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton and then moved south to work as academic manager for multimedia and moving image at the Digital Academy in Reading. He has also served as an external examiner for the MA in Interactive Media Publishing at Oxford Brookes University.

Pat is a senior lecturer in Digital Media and Design and the course leader for BA Digital Media. He is currently engaged with both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in digital arts and media, his teaching is primarily focused on 3D animation, web design and creative digital practice.

Pat's interdisciplinary research encompasses play, emotion, narrative, creativity and animation, and the synthesis of science and the arts.
