Laura Bradshaw-Heap

Having run a successful jewellery design business for seven years, Laura joined the CASS to complete her MA Jewellery Design in 2009, enabling her to refocus and develop her practice. Following graduation in 2011, Laura has curated & organised the ‘Suspended’ Art Jewellery group exhibitions (‘Suspended’, ‘Suspended in Pink’ and ‘Suspended in Green’), which have run for three years. Based on an open call format, these juried exhibitions have travelled across the globe. Laura has been privileged to work with many 'up and coming' and established jewelers from all over the world. Laura has also been an 'artist in residence' at the Birmingham School of Jewellery, worked with a wonderful team that organized a symposium in Germany, talked in conferences as far away as Australia, been a judge for the ‘Graduate Metal’ and ‘Participate’ exhibitions in Brisbane, and won an award as part of the Legnica Jewellery Festival in 2013.

Laura now currently shares her time between the Anthropology Department at University College London, where her study interests focus around the making economy, performativity, urban regeneration and cultural policy; and developing research driven collaborative and interdisciplinary projects with a variety of practitioners.
