Overview

The MSc Network Management and Security will provide you with critical understanding of the theories underpinning computer networks and security, and particularly on aspects of their management.

You will gain knowledge, skills and experience in the planning, design, implementation, operation, management, maintenance and support of complex LAN and WAN networks and develop an understanding of the tools, procedures and standards needed for network administration. Most importantly, the course incorporates high levels of hands-on learning, both in our state of the art networking laboratories as well as through the use of advanced network simulators.

The MSc Network Management and Security is taught within the Faculty of Computing which also hosts our Cisco Networking Academy, which is a very successful regional academy with more than 10 years experience of running relevant Computer Networking related Courses.

The MSc Network Management and Security is accredited by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) as fully meeting the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration.

The course has been developed in consultation with industry and employers to ensure content relevancy so as to enable the application of effective knowledge and skills required by the current state of computer network management and security as well as provide awareness of future emerging technologies.
