Aims of the courseCorporate agility in the face of diverse and changing business environments, the ability to anticipate future disruptions to business practices and to change direction at speed, are now recognised as the basis for edging past competitors in a growing international competitiveness. The aim of this course is to develop these sets of abilities with a particular focus on a thorough understanding of the international financial markets in which businesses operate and an understanding of corporate policies in the areas of capital investment, financing, acquisitions and restructuring. The rapid integration of international capital markets, the worldwide accessibility of investment funds and the continuous development of new and sophisticated financial products require business managers to understand how these changes affect the operations of their businesses and react accordingly. Entry RequirementsThe standard requirement is at least a lower second UK Honours degree or equivalent in business, finance, economics or related degrees with major components in Economics, Mathematics and Statistics. Applicants with substantial relevant professional experience will also be considered. Those without the standard requirements can attend the Graduate Diploma Course in Economics or Finance prior to enrolling on this course. Course structureThe course consists of six essential taught modules, five of which are core and one optional module, together with a dissertation of about 12,000-15,000 words.
