Flexible study programmes offered either as day release, block release, modular guided learning, summer fast track or flexible self-study with on-line support and Saturdays revision workshops.

PLEASE NOTE There is no official closing date for this course, but you are advised to apply as early as possible as we offer a flexible modular approach and delegates must ensure that they have full approval from their sponsoring organisations/employers.

Aims of the course

The Management Development Unit (MDU) at London Metropolitan University, trading as LondonMet Enterprises Ltd, is a leading provider of innovative consultancy, training and development since 1970 and is recognised as a Centre of Excellence by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) for the quality and flexibility of its CIPS Graduate Diploma programmes and are supported by a number of key organisations in both the public and private sectors.

Our programmes encourage critical reflection on current developments and focus on contemporary issues in supply chain management and aim to provide both theoretical and practical understanding of issues affecting the business environment and the purchasing and supply chain function as well as offer thorough preparation for the Institute’s examinations.

Our programmes make use of MCIPS specialist practitioners, consultants, and our extensive learning resources include multimedia and case studies.Successful completion of the CIPS Graduate Diploma together a minimum of three years relevant work experience leads to full Corporate Membership of the CIPS (MCIPS).

Entry requirements

CIPS Level 2: no prior, academic or professional, experience required
CIPS level 3: no prior, academic or professional, experience required
CIPS Levels 4, 5 & 6: Delegates with previous experience (academic or professional) are advised to consult CIPS with regard to possible exemptions.
This degree-level course is designed for those already working in purchasing & supply management

Course structure

Delegates can combine the various study modes on option to fit around their work commitment.
Participants are expected to have the support of their employers for sponsorship of fees and study leave.
  • CIPS Level 2 leads to the Introductory Certificate in P & S and consists of 4 elements assessed by an E-test
  • CIPS level 3 leads to the Certificate in P & S and consist of 5 modules
  • In order to gain the CIPS Graduate Diploma award delegates must achieve:
  • CIPS Level 4 leads to the Foundation Diploma in P & S and consists of 5 compulsory modules
  • CIPS Level 5 leads to the Advanced Diploma in P & S and consists of 5 modules (3 core modules and 2 electives from a choice of 5 electives, including 2 Public Sector options)
  • CIPS Level 6 leads to the Graduate Diploma in P & S and consists of 5 modules (3 core compulsory modules and 2 electives from a choice of 5 electives, including 2 Public Sector options)
