A third cohort of apprentices on the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) procurement apprenticeship programme will begin at London Met on 19 October.

Delivered in partnership with the City of London Corporation, the CIPS programme provides apprentices with on-the-job and knowledge-based training. London Met and the CoLP offer the provision of apprenticeships in Procurement (CIPS Level 3) and the Public Sector Commercial Level 4 apprenticeship.

The qualification teaches trainees transferable business skills by including competence, knowledge and core foundation skills – as well as a recognised professional qualification in procurement.

The City of London Corporation is an established provider of apprenticeships with an excellent reputation in the delivery of a number of apprenticeships programmes whilst London Metropolitan University is a recognised Centre of Excellence for the provision of the CIPS Qualifications.

“The current cohorts report that the skills, knowledge and behaviours are very well suited to the entry level roles within the organisations they represent,” said Angele Cauthery, CIPS Programme Manager at London Met.

“Future business needs indicate that professional procurement skills will be needed in the public and private sectors.”

The current apprenticeship programme, endorsed by CIPS, offers a thorough introduction to the world of work and the opportunity to build the foundations for a future career in a professional sector.
