London Metropolitan University collaborates with Cabinet Office in Centre for Youth Impact

London Metropolitan University is collaborating in a new centre to support youth organisations across the UK.
With one in three youth services facing closure and many reducing the scale of their operations, the Centre for Youth Impact will provide guidance and advice for organisations working to support young people.
Funded by the Cabinet Office, the project will help organisations to enhance their impact and improve their chances of securing funding.
The Centre for Youth Impact will act as a central information point to offer guidance on gathering and using evidence, while national and regional workshops and training sessions will support better partnership working between organisations.
The Centre is a collaboration between Project Oracle, a London Metropolitan University research intitiative based in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities; the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services (NCVYS); and the Dartington Social Research Centre Unit.
Project Oracle was formed in 2011 as a partnership between London Met, the Mayor of London and The Social Innovative Partnership, and is an example of the University’s valuable social contribution. So far, over 150 youth organisations have benefitted from Project Oracle.
The Centre for Youth Impact was formally launched at the Creative Collisions Conference in London on 6 November. It comes at a time when child poverty is on the rise, child and adolescent mental health services are struggling and young people have experienced the deepest drop in earnings since 2010.
